It’s the largest and most famous Christmas market in Florence and there you’ll find handcrafted items, Christmas decorations, candles, ceramics and gastronomic specialties from various parts of Europe. There are many treats that will make your mouth water, for example, Dutch waffles and Austrian sweets! All the little chalets are made of wood, a real charm!

This fair is a slightly larger version compared to the small markets in the squares, it has stalls with different types of food, Santa Claus’s house, but the big difference is its skating rink, which is the longest in Europe, with 300m of rink for you to enjoy very relaxed moments with friends and family.

The place where this little fair takes place draws attention, as it is a historical building, La Fortezza di San Giovanni Battista or Fortezza da Basso, a work built between 1534 and 1537.
