The attractions of Campania
Located in southern Italy, it is next to the Tyrrhenian Sea, where the Garigliano River flows into the Gulf of Policastro. It is a journey that begins at the sea, the main protagonist, with its intense colors and its sensational coasts full of bays, inlets and cliffs. The islands of the Gulf of Naples, Capri, Ischia and Procida are true masterpieces of nature. Check out a Tour of the Amalfi Coast here!
Vesuvius
In this area, we find another natural monument: Vesuvius, the highlight of this region and especially of the capital, Naples. This city knows better than anyone how to mix various cultural, popular, sacred, profane, joyful and melancholic aspects; it is a place with a unique and charming personality, which transmits unique sensations. It is no wonder that they say: “Naples, you either love it or hate it”.
Sorrento
Also in Campania, located on a volcanic slope facing the sea, is Sorrento. We can safely say that this is a vision of paradise, with rocky coasts (often inaccessible) alternating with small hidden beaches. With a unique landscape, nature has been generous here. The most untouched areas, thanks to the greatness of man, have been transformed into a series of terraces facing the sea, used to grow citrus fruits, olives and grapes. It is from these plantations that the delicious scent of oranges, lemons and orange blossom itself comes. In spring, these places are even more beautiful.
Other Attractions
In the Campania region, music, the sea, fun, nature, history and culture are the main elements that can be found everywhere. Just mention places like Paestum, Herculaneum, Pompeii and Torre Annunziata, or the Monastery of Padula and the Royal Palace of Caserta, which transmit and produce unforgettable, timeless experiences. The provinces of Campania are Naples (capital), Caserta, Benevento, Avellino and Salerno. Read also How many days do I need to visit Italy?
What to see in Campanha?
Those who choose to spend their holidays in Campanha will undoubtedly have an endless number of choices and opportunities. However, you cannot miss the places declared “World Heritage” by UNESCO. Let’s start with the capital of the region: the Naples city, which wins people over not only with its energy, but also with the beautiful colors of the sea, and with the history that emerges at every corner of the old town (the largest in Europe), a true open-air museum.
