Introduction

This tax of 5 euros will only be in place for a total of 29 days a year, mainly concentrated during holiday periods and on long weekends, when the city is besieged by tourists. The main purpose of this fee is to discourage visitors from a Venice experience of rushed single-day visits, encouraging them to spend more time in the city with the hope of reducing crowding and thus preserving the enchanting atmosphere of this much-loved destination. It should be noted that there are no specific limits imposed on the number of visitors allowed, except for tour groups, which cannot exceed 25 people. The idea is to find a balance between controlling the tourist flow and maintaining freedom of access for those who want to explore Venice without too many restrictions.
