How is public transport in Turin?

Amazing! The public transport network in Turin is essentially very simple, but it works extraordinaryly.

Turin structured its public transport with with 8 tram lines and more than 80 bus lines, ie it reaches all points easily. By the way, here in Turin, the first automatic subway of all Italy was inaugurated.

Without driver, the subway was planned to ensure greater frequency and lower waiting times. The subway lines in the city connect Collegno and Lingotto to the center of Turin and the Susa and Nuova door railway stations. Each trip lasts on average 60 seconds. Yes: It’s very fast! This subway train works between the Fermi – Lingotto stations, but we’ll see more details below.

  • Turin’s main railway station, that is, the central station is the Porta Nuova – there you will also find access to the city’s subway line!

How much does the subway cost in Turin?

The price of the single ticket for the trip is 1.70 euros. If you prefer, you can buy the “round trip” ticket, which costs 3 euros.

What are the opening hours of the Turin subway?

Turin subway opening hours may change without prior notice, so I always suggest you check the operating hours on the official website of the company responsible for your operation and, for that, you can click here!

Currently operating hours are as follows:

  • Monday: 5:30 am to 10:00 pm – last train at 9:30 pm.
  • From Tuesday to Thursday: from 5h30 to 00h30 – last train at 00h00.
  • Friday and Saturday: 5:30 am to 1:30 am – last train at 1:00 am.
  • On Sundays and holidays: from 7h00 to 00h30 – last train at 00h00.

Bus lines in Turin

If you prefer, you can use the bus lines available in the city. With 80 lines, the routes cover much of the city and offer good options for those who want to “enjoy the night” on weekends.

To serve those who like nightlife, the company responsible for public transportation in Turin created the service of GTT Night Buster, which circulates at night in Turin with vehicles equipped with natural gas -powered security cameras.

Every Friday, Saturdays and holidays, buses of all night lines take you from the peripheral terminal to the central terminal in Piazza Vittorio Veneto, with stops near the main nightclubs. There’s no excuse to stay at the hotel, huh?!

The historic line 7

Line 7 was organized with curated by ATTS – Associazione Torinese Tram Storici and was supported by the Turin City, which included the journey in the city of tourist attractions.

The historic line 7 presents to tourists the fantastic opportunity to travel through the city center in a type of “mobile museum” within a vintage (electric) tram. Line 7 is designed for tourists with a single circular route along the large avenues of the Turin perimeter and the historic center, passing through Porta Nuova station.

Currently operating hours are as follows:

  • The service operates on Saturdays, holidays and periods such as Christmas, Easter and Extended Holidays. The terminal is in Piazza Castello in front of the region.
  • The service is open from 9:30 am to 7:30 pm, with 60 -minute intervals, and costs 1.70 euros.

Venaria Express

Venaria Express Bus Service connectsTurin with Borgo Antico di Venaria, Reggia di Venaria and Parco Della Mandia. It also stops at Piazza Vittorio Veneto and Piazza Castello, heart of Turin.

IMPORTANT TO KNOW:

  • The Express Venaria stops at Borgo Castello, inside the Parco della Mandria, but after the park’s closing time, the tours are limited and reach only at the terminal at Viale Carlo Emanuele II, outside the park area and before the “green bridge” .
