Rimini is one of the most democratic cities in terms of attractions, pockets, and tastes! It appeals to all age groups as it presents options for all of them. Situated in northern Italy, in the Emilia-Romagna region, Rimini is also home to some of the most beautiful beaches in northern Italy. Despite having lost almost all of its historical collection during the Second World War, the city has risen again and, today, manages to present a lot of history and culture.

A little history of Rimini

Rimini’s history has its roots in ancient times and, due to its privileged geographical and historically strategic position, it also offers incredible regional cuisine. It was founded by the Romans after a victory over the Gauls, and the ancient Ariminum became an increasingly important center: the Romans, not surprisingly, built two main arteries in the city, the Via Flaminia, which still connects it to Rome, and the Via Emilia, which connects the city with Piacenza. Here, different peoples and domains intersected and followed each other: from the Byzantines to the Lombards, from the Malatesta to the Venetians. People who left a surprising and still admirable trace in the architecture and the main attractions of the city.

But the real symbol of the square is the Fontana della Pigna in the center, which has always been a meeting place for locals. While you’re in the center, visit the old fish market! Here you will be able to understand the true essence of the city. This is the ideal place to chat with friends, have a good beer or a glass of wine, in one of the thousands of venues present: wineries, pubs and restaurants will offer the best of Emilia Romagna on the table. The Riviera of Rimini!! As we said, Rimini has some of the most beautiful beaches in Italy. Among some of the most beautiful beaches in Rimini is Rivabella; you can define this beautiful beach as ‘a piece’ of California in Italy. The waterfront is full of attractions, bars, restaurants (there’s even a Ferris wheel!) and is super well located. Another impressive beach is Viserbella beach (where the attraction Italy in Miniature is located). It is the most touristy beach and where most shops, markets, hotels and many other structures for tourists are concentrated. The night there is not so busy, so it is ideal for those who want rest and peace.

Pedrera Tower

If you want even more tranquility, choose the Pedrera Tower. It’s super quiet and to get to the beach you just literally have to cross the street. Excellent option for those with children, in addition to being calm and very safe. Oh, important to know: the beaches are almost waveless because of the barrier of rocks that break the waves; There are lifeguards every 150 meters and the total waterfront is 15 km long. Whichever beach you choose: it will be worth it!
