What are the hours of the main monuments in Italy?
Florence, Rome, Milan and Venice are the most visited cities in Italy. With a huge flow of tourists, the flow is even greater during the high season months, so many tourist attractions extend their opening hours to meet the demand, others, however, prefer to keep a fixed schedule, both in summer and winter. Let’s go to our post of the day? What are the hours of the main monuments in Italy? Here at Your Travel to Italy with Ana Patricia you make the trip of your dreams!!! ALSO: see our “Accommodation in Italy – Tips for your holidays!”
Introduction
In Italy, with daylight saving time, the sun starts to set only after 8 pm, which makes people enjoy the natural light for even longer and, with that, stay more on the streets. In the winter, the sun sets earlier, which makes people prefer to take advantage of the morning to go for a walk. Many sights adapt their hours to this demand, operating until later, while others prefer to keep the fixed hours of operation. Read also When is the best time to travel to Italy?
Most Visited Cities
The most visited cities, Florence, Rome, Milan and Venice, are those that receive even more tourists in the summer, which often doubles the number of visitors in the sights. Not to mention that it is also the European vacation period, that is, many Italians from other regions and European citizens from other countries go to Italy to visit exactly these cities.
Imagine how they look ?!
To try to avoid all this flow, a tip is: BUY TICKETS IN ADVANCE! I am not saying that you are not going to take the line to enter the chosen sight, but you will avoid taking two lines, such as the “kilometer-long” line to buy tickets. That’s why it is a good idea to know the opening hours of the main tourist points of the cities. Let’s take a look?
Attention:
- Hours may change without notice for reasons of force majeure, for example, adverse weather conditions (mainly access to terraces and the highest points of the places mentioned).
- On January 1st, December 25th and May 1st, museums DO NOT WORK.

Conclusion
What are the hours of the main monuments in Italy? It is always important to confirm the hours before heading to the chosen location (you can even do this at the reception of your hotel), especially if you are traveling during the winter, as in case of adverse weather conditions, some places may not open (especially terraces and belvederes, due to strong wind); otherwise, get organized, pack your bags, have a nice trip and have a good time! 🙂
