A tour of these artistic beauties can begin precisely in Stresa, on the Piedmont coast, opposite the Borromean Islands, a true open-air museum. An excursion to the tourist center of Stresa is essential to enjoy the wonderful view of the islands that are just a few steps from the coast, this area has many noble mansions now converted into luxury hotels.

The shore of Lake Stresa is distinguished by its noble hotels and gardens full of flowers and plants of extraordinary beauty, such as the Vila Pallavicino Park. From the lake, you can go to the heart of Stresa, Marconi Square, which overlooks the Parish of Saint Ambrose, a church with a Greek cross plan and a neoclassical facade decorated with two sculptures of musical angels. Don’t miss a look at the Church of Saints Gervasius and Protasius, with its Romanesque bell tower, baptistery and an 18th-century portico that create a unique blend of styles.

On the west coast of Piemont Lake Maggiore, Arona is another interesting town, a very picturesque village in the province of Novara, overlooking the waters of Verbano, a small village that was the birthplace of Saint Charles Borromeo.

Arona is inserted in a territorial situation and landscape rich in natural and cultural resources of great value that make it an attractive travel destination for tourism and with quality contact with nature, but also with traditions, art, sustainable gastronomy and the culture of places.
