Our Introduction

The Autodromo is known all over the world as the temple of speed, it has been, and continues to be, the place where drivers, cars and competitions enter a kind of legend, which has lived on for almost 100 years. The Italian Motor Grand Prix is a classic race of the Formula One World Championship. Held on a Sunday in September, on the track of the Autodromo Nazionale de Monza. The Grand Prix has reached its 87th Edition, of which seventy-nine were at the Autodromo Nazionale di Monza. This event is absolutely one of the most classic races on the Formula 1 calendar. How about a Tour around Lake Como, Lugano, and Bellagio?

To be able, even once in a lifetime, to visit the circuit, stroll through the meadows, the grass or watch the Grand Prix, is a unique experience, to be preserved in the pages of memories of their lives. In this place you can smell the rustic and true fragrance of the many important events that have passed here, thanks to the exhibition of the greatest car and racing champions of all time. Five kilometres of legend, which preserves the super-fast nature of the circuit.

A little history of the Autodromo

The construction of the Monza racetrack was decided in January 1922 by the Milan Automobile Club in order to commemorate the 25th anniversary of the birth of the Association. The construction of a race track was suggested by the technical and commercial requirements of the different national manufacturers, who, already at that time, focused on exports.

Tests for Speed Development

A stable system, dedicated to motorsport competitions, would also allow experimental tests of all kinds to be carried out. Therefore, sectors for the development of speed were included in the project, accompanied by other sectors from various areas. For all this, we must credit the good technical and sporting results of the first car of the Italian Grand Prix, held the previous year, at the not sufficiently equipped Montichiari circuit.

The track was built in record time, one hundred and ten days, and was covered entirely, throughout its development for the first time on July 28 by Pietro Bordino and Felice Nazzaro in a Fiat 570. Over the years, of course, it has undergone several renovations. The expansion of the structures of the Autodromo improved its functioning in the sporting aspect and enriched the reception and hospitality capacity.

The Evolution of the Autodromo

The pit complex was enlarged, leaving several pits available to the teams, from forty to sixty, it was also possible to obtain new spaces, on the first floor, for the various services and for the direction of the race. Another novelty is represented by the expansion of the press room, which now has 540 seats available for journalists, in addition to areas for the press office. The press room is dedicated to Tazio Nuvolari, the great automobile and motorcycle champion, who in 2003 celebrated the fiftieth anniversary of his death.

Concerts for Charity

The Monza circuit is also used for numerous events, charity races and concerts. The buildings have been recently renovated and are used, in addition to the reception of VIP guests  during the main competitions, also for meetings, conventions, product presentations and fairs of all types of heavy vehicles, corporate cars and bicycles.

The Most Important Competitions

The most important competitions that are held annually on the race track are the Italian Grand Prix, a race included in the calendar of the Formula 1 World Championship, the WTCC (World Touring Car Championship), and the Monza Rally Show, which takes place in November and closes the season at Monza.
