Important tip

Let’s see which restaurants to visit if you are in Milan, but remember: since the city is varied, so is the offer!

  • For lunch I advise you to avoid the very expensive restaurants. It is better to take refuge in a bar, as they are all equipped to offer discreet hot meals or great sandwiches and self-service where, in many cases, the choice is limited to two or three dishes with the advantage that the menu changes every day.
  • For dinner, instead, we can delight ourselves with unusual and special restaurants. Let’s see now 10 places to eat in Milan.

More than a restaurant is a bar; you’ll find snacks, sandwiches and some dishes to satisfy your appetite. Incredibly, prices are in the average Milanese and will not spend a fortune. In return you will be able to take out many selfies with the wallpaper bottom or the iconic round luminaries. The place gives us an atmosphere of a historic Milanese café, from the decoration on the ceiling and walls that inspires the Vittorio Emanuele Gallery to the internal furniture with a retro touch, which celebrates the Italian cinema of the 50s and 60s.

10) Where to eat in Milan? CONSTRASTE

In the tenth place we put a dinner to remember, with a really different restaurant; it is the Contraste, on Meda Street. To distinguish between the temples of food that Milan offers, you need to change the rules: that’s the bet of Contraste, the restaurant of Matias Perdomo that takes the menu from the tables and puts the client in the center of the list. It chose a name full of meanings that really represents its idea of restaurant. Click here to learn more and make your reservation!

Contraste, which in English means contrast, wants to represent the differences that unite who prepares the dish and who eats, but also that swimming against the current that yields a restaurant that is like a house, that renounces the menu to satisfy the desires of the guests themselves, leaving their freedom to choose what to eat.

Contraste focuses everything on welcoming, a bit like the taverns of old times, where the owner would stop to talk to the customers and ask: “What will you want to eat?”. The list of dishes here has been replaced by a card and to the inside a mirror, where – when the person opens it – sees himself and what they want. Magical!
