Introduction

I will try to give you a hand in this process! If you have read the post How many days do I need to visit the main tourist spots in Italy”, you already know that it is very complicated to choose what to visit in Italy in 10 days. The country seems small, the distances seem short, but in reality none of this works as we think.

About Italy

Italy is made up of so many important interesting cities that it needs more days to be visited. Not to mention the wonderful villages, so the impression I have is that we will never fail to discover something new in this incredible country! Will you need a transfer? Then click here and get to know the Transfers services of our partners in Traveling to Italy. To give you an idea, I live in Italy for almost 16 years. I graduated in tourism, I have worked in this area for many years and I have traveled a lot in Italian territory, but even so I did not get to know everything… YET! 😉

Our Itinerary of the Day

Well, let’s go! I’ll be very synthetic and I like to get to the point, so without further ado, let’s see what to do in Italy in 10 days? Enjoy and read also our Special Post Classic 10-day Itinerary in Italy”. In 10 days we will be able to visit some great places, obviously the number of spots depends a lot on the type of transport we will use, and for example, if we use the train we will be able to visit the main cities.

To visit the smaller towns or villages, which are usually located between the larger towns, you will need to have a car at your disposal, perhaps rented or, who knows, have a private driver accompanying you throughout the trip. If you need a private ask me. Send me an e-mail.

TIP: Have in mind that this itinerary is very quick and tiring, it is not the ideal choice for elderly and people with children. The perfect option is doing it in 12 or 15 days, spending more time in Rome and Florence.

10 DAY ITINERARY WITH THE TRAIN

Traveling by train in Italy

Did you know that Trenitalia is the main Italian company dedicated to the management of rail transport? Find out here “What is the difference between trains in Italy?”. Buy your ticket online in advance and save a lot, read the Post “How to buy a train ticket in Italy?“. Now let’s see our 10 days itinerary by train!

1) What to do in Italy in 10 days? ROME

1st day – Arrival in Rome: The first day is always complicated as we have the jetlag that hits us and not to mention the trip that is always very tiring. Then see what can be done on that day without much commitment, without visiting hours. Because with tickets bought in advance you need to respect the schedules.

To make the visits you will have to leave your house with everything planned. Choose in advance the places you would like to visit and buy tickets online before leaving! This way you will save a lot of time in the lines, which can eventually be gigantic and tiring!

Tip

  • Make the itinerary in Rome by Metro; many stations leave you close to the monuments. Not to mention that it is easier, faster and the cost is amazingly low.

2) What to do in Italy in 10 days? ROME

3) What to do in Italy in 10 days? ROME

Day 3 – Visits in Rome (last day!): If you managed to see everything in the first two days (which I find hard to do!) Take the opportunity to relax and rest in one of the Roman Squares: take the chance to observe the Italian lifestyle, admire the landscapes and rest from the marathon that was the first two days! But if you have energy, make the most of it, after all it is not every day that we are in places like this. So take your map and go ahead, strength and overcome the fatigue because it is worth! You are in Rome, bello!
