1) What to do in two days in Naples? FIRST DAY

We started this first day in the wonderful city of Naples, abandoning ourselves to the joyful frenzy of this city, its colors and its perfumes. Only then, you live in close contact with the real Neapolitan heart, which you will never forget. Piazza Garibaldi & Piazza del Plebiscito

The visit can start from Piazza Garibaldi (Garibaldi Square), which is close to the main station. From there, in a few minutes on foot, you can reach the most beautiful square in the city, Piazza del Plebiscito (“Plebiscite Square”), where in the center of the beautiful colonnade stands the Basilica of St Francis of Paola, and beside the equestrian statues of Carlos III de Bourbon and Ferdinando I. Among other things, it is considered one of the most beautiful places in Naples. In this large square, we also find the Royal Palace.

Castel Maschio Angioino & Castel dell’Ovo

Continuing close by, you can admire San Carlo Theater, one of the main theaters in the world, recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Always walking, you can easily reach Maschio Angioino, one of the castles, symbol of the city of Naples. This magnificent castle, with a view of the port and another of the mayor’s office, ‘looks’ across Piazza Municipio (“Town Hall Square”) and turns its attention to the seafront of Via Caracciolo. You end the day with a walk along the boardwalk and savoring an excellent Neapolitan sfogliatella, towards Castel dell’Ovo (“Castle of the Egg”), the second oldest castle in Naples.

Megaride islet

The magnificent location where the Islet of Megaride is located, makes it one of the symbols of the city and one of the buildings most photographed by tourists. At this point, you will visit the Borgo Marinari, located next to Castel dell’Ovo, where you can taste excellent fish dishes, always fresh and expertly prepared. When the sun goes down, after dinner, you can take a stroll along the Mergellina boardwalk, which is romantic and pleasant, just to crown an unforgettable day. After that, bed and rest!

2) What to do in two days in Naples? SECOND DAY

After a nice breakfast, we continue the tour in the beautiful city of Naples. The second day is dedicated to discovering Underground Naples, along two paths that will lead to the discovery of ancient catacombs, the aqueduct and the remains of the Greco-Roman theater.

Underground Naples

Everyone hears of the works of art and appreciates the architectural beauty of Naples, but very few know this particular aspect and the history hidden ‘under the ground’, an isolated and silent world, almost completely unexplored and minimally visible that connects and merges with the Naples from the surface. This route starts from Piazza Garibaldi and, when you come out, you will find yourself close to the Duomo, which is unmissable.

What makes the Cathedral of Naples even more famous around the world is ‘the miracle of San Genaro’ which ‘presents itself’ every year and it is on this occasion that blood is redissolved in an ampoule between the stunned eyes of the faithful and curious. Getting the munchies, take the opportunity to have a light snack and then start the journey back to the famous San Gregorio Armeno Street, focused on the theme of nativity scenes.

A place where many statues of famous people are exposed, of religious and superstitious symbols that tourists love to photograph and immortalize. Going to Naples also means visiting the Sansevero Chapel, in Piazza S. Domenico Maggiore, where is the famous work Veiled Christ.

Walking through Spaccanapoli makes you live and taste the most lively and chaotic charm of the city. Follow all this through the neighborhoods of Spagnoli to the district of Forcella. Along the way, you will find the Monastery of St Clare and the Church of Gesù Nuovo, a typical construction of the Neapolitan baroque. How to get to Naples?

Naples is a city well connected to the rest of Italy and is easily reached by plane, car or train.

1) How to get to Naples? BY AIRPLANE

Naples Capodichino International Airport is one of the most important in Italy. In Naples, planes depart and arrive from all Italian, European and international destinations. All airlines and low-cost airlines stop in Naples

From the airport, head towards the city center with the bus:

Two main lines lead to the city center: the 3S line that connects to Piazza Garibaldi (Central Station) from where it is very easy to take all the buses or subways that drive towards the different parts of the city. The 3S line runs approximately every 30 minutes from the arrival fronts, from 5:20 am to 11:20 pm. The (single) ticket costs € 1.10 per passenger.

2) How to get to Naples? BY TRAIN

Naples has three main stations where trains from other Italian cities and from abroad arrive and depart.

Central Station (Piazza Garibaldi) is the most important one, twenty-two binaries where trains from all Italian destinations arrive. Central Naples is advisable for those who must reach the city center or the Molo Beverello to embark for the islands.
Naples Mergellina is the intermediate station, close to the Molo di Mergellina, from where the hydrofoils depart to the Gulf islands.
Naples Campi Flegrei is the stop outside the city center and closest to the stadium. It is ideal for those staying in hotels in Fuorigrotta, Bagnoli, Pozzuoli and Campi Flegrei. All three stations are integrated with the metro lines and are the departure and arrival points for city buses.

3) How to get to Naples? BY SHIP

Naples has one of the most important ports in the Mediterranean. Cruise ships from all over the world arrive here every week, but mainly connections on ships from all over southern Italy. TTTLines boats connect Naples with Catania with daily trips. Tirrenia connects Naples with Palermo (Sicily) and Cagliari (Sardinia) with daily trips.

4) How to get to Naples? BY CAR

For those arriving from the north, the main road leading to Naples PE is the Highway of the Sun Milano-Napoli. Passing the castle of Caserta Sul it has a junction of approximately 8 km that leads to the various exits towards the city.
For those who must reach the center, it is advisable to follow the directions for Naples Centro – Porto – Maritime Station – Central Station. A few kilometers later, you will find a fork in the road that should take the direction to the port, which passes through Via Marina or towards Central Station, which always leads to the center, but passes through the congested Corso Umberto. If you need to get to areas that are far from the center (Fuorigrotta, Bagnoli), you should take the tangential exit.
Whoever arrives from the south via Salerno- Reggio Calabria arrives at the same intersection and must follow the signs Nápoles Centro – Porto – Maritime Station – Central or Tangential Station.
Bari-Napoli also arrives at the junction where there will then be departures for Tangential or Naples Center.
