Located in the heart of Sorrento, the Cathedral dates back to the 10th-12th centuries, when it was transferred inside the city walls and it is dedicated to the saints Philip and James. They say it was built on the ruins of an ancient temple dedicated to Jupiter; the Church’s architecture is a unique nave and it houses an important statue of the Madonna del Rosario, located on the main altar.

Also of great value is the drum located at the entrance, completely inlaid with representations of the events in the history of the Church of Sorrento. How to get to Sorrento?

Getting to Sorrento is simple, comfortable and peaceful thanks to the many solutions, such as: train, plane, car and boats.

1) How to get to Sorrento? BY AIRPLANE

The nearest airport to Sorrento is Naples Capodichino, which is 50 km from the city. From here you can reach Sorrento thanks to a bus service, the Curreri line, which will take you to your destination.

2) How to get to Sorrento? BY TRAIN

For those who want to reach Sorrento by train, we recommend reaching the Napoli Piazza Garibaldi station. From here, through an underground passage, you will reach the Circumvesuviana line and you can take a train to Sorrento. Trains depart approximately every half hour. Also of interest is the state-of-the-art tourist train, the Campania Express, which leaves Naples and reaches the most famous places in the villages of Vesuvius and the Sorrento Coast. The train leaves Naples Porta Nolana and Napoli Garibaldi (Central Station) and stops in Ercolano, Pompeii and then Sorrento.
